Herringbone parquet, an everlasting classic which through the mix of grains directions and shades has a constantly story to tell.
We considered the main focal point to get the starting line and thus the floor gained a pleasant look. Just to underline the classical orientation of the herringbone parquet a simple border was used continuously all around. The corners were mitered to avoid using unaesthetic shorter blocks.
The concrete screed subfloor was cleared of debris and grinded to smooth it out. Then the moisture sealant, liquid DPM, was applied to ensure a proper protection on long term for this precious floor.
Once the laser line was adjusted as measured the main row was laid and left to cure.
The finalising stage followed the installation. The herringbone parquet was sanded to remove any remaining ridges. We applied the white oil and buffed it until the desired transparency was reached. The surface was sealed with a clear coat of clear satin oil. Â
