Baked Oak Engineered Boards Installation lacquer finished in SW18 Wandsworth, London

A multi stage project with a few particularities. The aim was to achieve a Jacobean look and the unsealed baked oak was chosen.

The sub-floor was checked and prepared to provide a good support for installing the engineered boards. The skirting undercutting was chosen to ensure a proper finish all around and to minimise the potential damages to wall when replacing the skirting.
Measurements were taken to better understand the layout of the bedroom. We found the best positioning to get an overall symmetrical floor paying more attention to the focus areas.
Once the baked oak floor was installed we could proceed to a light sanding and applying the matt lacquer.
As you may see through the images the baked oak showed its hidden beauty after the finish was applied, turning it into a rich dark garnet colour.
To achieve a consistent colour we carefully matched the boards before installing them.
 
The wonderful engineered boards were supplied by The Natural Wood Floor Co., our preferred manufacturer of quality wooden floors.
