Herringbone Oak Parquet Installation in NW6 Maida Vale, London
A light and modern parquet floor maintaining it's natural look, wonderfully rounding the design concept of this home. Â
For any wooden floor the substrate has a direct impact onto the outcome of the final result. Therefore after the carpet was removed, the thermoplastic tiles were scraped, the kitchen lino removed and the higher areas grinded. Being a ground level flat we made no exception and applied liquid DPM to protect the parquet of any potential damp infiltration.
Having the sub-floor prepared the walls paralelism was measured to get the corect alignment. Also we centred the floor to achieve a symmetrical appearance.
We installed the herringbone parquet without border around the walls to give the impression of a wider space. Also the floor is continuous through the doors for the same purpose.
The entrance doormat was integrated into the parquet floor with a symmetrical mitred border. It is a functional feature as well as a design one.
