The sub-floor is a key factor in delivering a beautiful and long lasting hardwood floor.
For this project we had, to install the wooden floor over concrete and pine boards. This requires two different installation approaches for the same floor.
After clearing the old carpet, linoleum and vinyl tiles we could properly asses the sub-floor. The concrete was sealed with liquid DPM and the pine boards additionally secured and planed.
Having the concrete sub-floor also split in two by a level difference we opted for creating a seamless mitered joint to blend it it as much as possible.
To avoid beading the skirting was undercut thus the expansion gap was under the skirting.
When completed we could look with appreciation at this beautiful floor which totally changed the home.
