This project was completed in a riverside townhouse in Pimlico.

While many of our projects involve suspended timber subfloors, this property benefited from a stable concrete screed base. The entrance hallway was previously carpeted and the kitchen finished with tiles. Once these coverings were removed, areas of the screed were found to be weak and required the application of a self levelling compound. This preparation created a sound, even base and proved highly effective for the installation that followed.

The clients favoured a natural, traditional oak floor and selected a bevelled edge detail to enhance its character. Bevelled edge parquet is an excellent choice for achieving a classic, rustic appearance while benefiting from modern day durability. Each block is manufactured with a gently sloping edge, giving every piece a clearly defined outline once fitted together.

This detailing adds an extra layer of depth and texture to the finished parquet floor, subtly emphasising the individual blocks within the pattern. The parquet blocks used measured 70mm x 280mm, with a thickness of 15mm and a bevelled edge profile.
