This was an extensive project which required the involvement of all the Fin Wood team. We had to install more than 350sqm of engineered oak boards on four different levels with various types of subfloors and conditions. The stairs were cladded also with custom solid oak boards matching the floor boards.
This impressive refurbishment demonstrated Fin Wood's high level attention to detail. Of course the wooden floors were one of the defining elements of the final design and therefore we had precise requirements from the architect for all the focal points. No thresholds were used to join the wooden floor with the adjacent floor coverings. For tiles we matched the height and line of our floor to achieve a seamless joining and for carpets a transversal board was installed.
Also two integrated access panels were created into the floor using the existing frame and structure.
All the stairways were cladded to achieve the effect of a continuous wooden floor from the basement up four floors to the loft.
Considering the additional challenges of a tight schedule and working alongside other trades we were pleased we managed to meet all expectations and maintain high technical standards for the installation.
