Each project showcases our dedication to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. From meticulous herringbone parquet floor installation to both traditional and contemporary style stair cladding, here are our top five projects of 2024. 1.    Classic oak stair cladding with a feature herringbone parquet

TRADITIONAL STYLE OAK STAIR CLADDING WITH MATCHING VARIED WIDTH BOARDS AND A FEATURE HERRINGBONE PARQUET, EAST DULWICH SE22

Traditional staircases give a classic heritage look to any home. This traditional style of stairs was chosen by the customers to complement the overall aesthetic of their large Victorian terraced home. The staircase was expertly crafted by the Fin Wood team and strengthened, levelled and cladded in oak and fitted with a new custom handrail. Alongside this, we fitted a beautiful feature herringbone parquet floor in the large double reception room. As well as installing random width oak boards in a matching colour for the rest of the ground floor.

2.    Herringbone parquet with a Victorian elegance

ELEGANT HERRINGBONE PARQUET PROJECT WITH A CLASSIC SINGLE ROW BORDER IN LARGE VICTORIAN TERRACE, CLAPHAM SW11

There is nothing more elegant than a herringbone parquet floor with a classic neat single row border. This project was completed in a Victorian family home and used premium grade engineered oak to give the floor a smooth look. What was particularly wonderful about this project was that a couple of years ago we previously completed another fab project for the same customers at the same house. The customers were so pleased with our craftsmanship they called us back to continue the project throughout the ground floor.

3.    American colonial oak boards

We love a project that complements the structure and style of the home. These customers loved period features so choosing the Natural Lacquered Antique Oak Boards in dark wood suited perfectly to create a classic American feel. We also reconstructed, strengthened and cladded the staircase - what a transformation!

4.    An expansive, yet meticulous, light oak herringbone parquet project

This was certainly the most complex project we have done this year and required a lot of planning and creative thinking in order to complete the work. We needed experts to oversee and execute the sound proofing and installation of a new parquet floor. Our customers were keen for a sophisticated aesthetic and chose light oak blocks for their oversized herringbone parquet flooring.They were overly delighted with the luxurious finished floor and appreciated how smooth the project went.

5.    Staircase transformation with an effectively soundproofed oak floor

CONTEMPORARY WHITE AND OAK STAIRCASE CLADDING AND NEW OAK FLOOR BOARD, ESSEX IG10

Elegant finishes on the staircase produce beautiful results for this Essex project. The warmth of wooden treads on the steps with the clean look of the white-painted risers fitted perfectly with this modern terrace property. This project focused on cladding two sets of staircases whilst fitting new oak boards on the floor. These floorboards had an effective ‘impact sound reduction membrane’ installed. We also undercut the skirting boards to maintain the integrity of the existing design. The result? A seamless transition from floor to wall that complemented the room’s elegant finish.
