We were called to remove the old laminate and to install a beautiful engineered oak floor.
After a thorough assessment we decided together with the client that the floating method of installation is the best approach for this project.
Once the laminate was gone we could see the many different type of sub-floors which are a real problem when the wooden floor has to be glued down. Being a concrete sub-floor on the ground level the risk of future damp infiltration is quite real so we laid a UPVC membrane to protect the wooden floor. Due to the variation of sub-floors we couldn't use our preferred liquid DPM.
Another challenge was to safely move around the heavy side-by-side fridge and stove while installing the floor, without scratching it.
The alignment was chosen in accordance to the source of natural light therefore a very natural look which emphasise the beauty and character of the boards.
Our recommendation was the engineered parquet from The Natural Wood Floor Co. for their exceptional quality engineered boards.
