Hand crafted oak chevron

For this luxury project we partnered with a highly acclaimed design team to create a bespoke oak chevron wooden floor with dark walnut tramline borders. Over the years we have built up a wide portfolio of mansion apartment floors. And we’re able to use our experience of these period properties to produce highly crafted floors with a focus on the details.

We were contacted during the full refurbishment of this spacious period flat with impressive views. The plan was to turn this derelict Mayfair apartment into a luxury party pad with a new bathroom, kitchen, air conditioning units and of course high specification sound installation. The owners and designers needed an impressive floor to accentuate their design efforts in this refurbishment.

Change of direction

We consulted with the owner about how best to set out the direction of the chevron floors. We agreed on a striking direction change in the living room. The floor runs parallel to the windows which is not what we would usually recommend but in this case it suited the layout and use of the living room.

Dark tramline border

We also agreed on a neat distinctive border in the living room but decided against a border in the narrow hallway to retain the chevron pattern. We sourced continuous long boards for the inside of the border that perfectly matched the colour of the chevron blocks.

We applied a final coat of clear Osmo polyx satin oil for extra protection.

A new lease of life

At the start the apartment was a derelict space and it has clearly been given a new lease of life. The timeless oak chevron floor has provided a touch of class to this luxury Mayfair party pad.
