Maintaining oiled floors
#CraftedForLife
High-traffic areas should be identified and checked regularly, as they tend to show wear sooner than the rest of the floor. If these spots start to look dull or dry, it’s a sign that maintenance is needed. For oiled floors, we recommend using a product like Osmo Maintenance Oil, which can be applied locally to the affected areas or across the entire floor for a more uniform finish and long-term protection.

We recommend using a product like Osmo Maintenance Oil.

All wooden floors need a refresh to preserve their beauty and extend their lifespan.
Application Method
Apply Osmo Maintenance Oil thinly and evenly onto clean, dry wood using an Osmo Double Blade Scraper or Microfibre Roller, always working along the grain. For most finishes, rub the oil into the surface using a white pad to ensure even absorption (except for 3098, which should not be rubbed in). Be sure to remove any excess product to prevent sticky or uneven patches.

For smaller areas or touch-ups, a lint-free cloth can be used for easy and precise application. Ensure good ventilation during drying to support a smooth, even finish.

If scratches or dents compromise the protective layer of your wooden floor, it's important to act promptly. Apply a suitable maintenance oil to seal the exposed grain and restore protection. For deeper damage or more extensive wear, we recommend reaching out to the company that performed the installation or finishing. A professional assessment ensures the issue is properly addressed and prevents further deterioration.
