Baked Oak Engineered Boards Installation in SW18 Wandsworth, London

We were delighted to see the outcome of this project. Although not a large one the floor produced an amazing effect. Despite it's dark appearance the space didn't become smaller but actually became warmer and more welcoming as well as serious and elegant.

To minimise the discomfort produced by the footfall sound to the downstairs neighbour we suggested to have an impact sound reduction membrane glued over the sub-floor. This also allowed to glue the engineered floor over the membrane thus achieving a solid floor separated from the sub-floor.

The space was properly measured to obtain a symmetrical floor against the walls and also around the fireplace. Because the boards had different shades we carefully selected them individually to avoid the effect of a mosaic. Also we considered the natural light as when reflecting over the floor the as it may distort the colour perception.
