Our Peaty Brown finish is a celebration of rich heritage, dramatic depth, and rustic honesty. Inspired by the deep, dark, and earthy tones of wild peatlands, this finish is expertly formulated to give new oak planks the immediately comforting, settled-in warmth of a century-old floor.
Peaty Brown
Peaty Brown: dark, complex blend of rich molasses, roasted coffee, and deep, saturated earth. It provides a highly premium alternative to cold, flat dark stains, wrapping the room in a welcoming, cozy atmosphere. The Peaty Brown finish is the ultimate match for our rustic grade oak, transforming the wood’s natural architectural features into striking design details. Organic knots, natural splits, and mineral streaks absorb the stain with distinct intensity, turning each wide board into a uniquely handcrafted work of art with real historic charm.
Species: Continental (European) Oak
Finish: Hardwax-Oil; An additional coat is recommended after installation for extra protection but also to seal the joints between the wood floor elementsÂ
Origin: European Oak (Quercus Robur). Grown in responsibly managed eastern European forests. The trees are rigorously selected and marked by the forest rangers once a year for auctioning. The adjudicated trees will be harvested progressively rather than all at once. New oak trees are planted to replenish the forest.
Maintenance: This finish can be cleaned regularly using dedicated cleaners. These feed and strengthen the surface over time.
Spot repair and Refinish: Professional maintenance will make this finish richer and protect it over time. Spot repairs are possible.
