The alcove cabinets are the most popular solution for making the most of the recessed spaces on the sides of the fireplace. The alcove units usually have two parts: the base enclosed cabinet and the top open shelves.

Alcove furniture is installed as part of the wall always being fully customised to the wall shapes.  We design them to match the room style, becoming the decorative house fixtures. They give an elegant look, stylish and timeless charm. We suggest neat, well-balanced, natural lines to reveal beauty of your houses. Also they bring the benefit of hiding the many walls imperfections accumulated through the years which is a specific trait to the Victorian and Edwardian homes.

The lower part cabinets can provide good storage or accommodation for electronic equipment, children toys or any other large items.  The top of the cupboard can be use for TV or some decorative lamps. The base unit can have exterior skirting or recessed plinth. Inside a middle shelf can be installed for using the space more efficiently. We have developed a specific approach to make this shelf strong but also to allow full access under it.

The upper part bookcases are not only for books. They can also be a great place for displaying photos or souvenirs. We consider that all shelves have to be strong enough to hold a whole row of books and not bow in time. The number of shelves and the distance between them will be chosen în accordance to your needs. The top of the shelving part is finished with decorative trims or coving.

The details of the alcove units like fluted panels with ornamental vertical groves, cornices or door ornamental mouldings give them a characteristic traditional style.

Beside the attention to details and design we are focused also on the unseen part of the alcove cabinets: strength and durability. We will thoroughly create as many as possible connection points to the side and back walls. Then a hidden inner structure will be built to stabilize the whole construction.

Once the cutting and fitting process is ended the finishing stage will start. For this we can use a multitude of paint textures and colours which are available for you to choose.
