Oak Board Premier Oiled Clear 20x240mm
Oak Board Premier Oiled Clear 20x240mm: Boards above 240 mm have a very contemporary feel and create a modern, streamline look. However, contrary to what many believe, wide boards aren’t just for large, open-plan rooms. With fewer joins than narrower boards, wide boards create a seamless clean look, so there’s less to distract the eye. This can really help to open up a space and shows off all the beauty of the timber in the process.
Our engineered wood flooring meets modern requirements and keeps a traditional wood flooring appearance. The multiple layers of plywood backing give support to the visible top layer of the precious hardwood, resulting in a floor that looks and feels like a solid wood floor but that can be laid over almost all types of sub floor, and can still be sanded and re-finished after years of use.
The light tones of Oak mature from a pale tan-biscuit hue to a more honeyed look. Premier Oak has a more uniform and cleaner look that brings a refined elegance to a home. The lower knot content of premier Oak gives a more contemporary appearance.
Oiled finishes are very popular as they have a natural look and feel, so simply add to the appearance of the wood. Oil finishes penetrate into the wood to protect the timber and in doing so, enhance the grain. This adds depth to the wood's natural appearance in the process.
Engineered wood floors are suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, and any other room in the house because of their greater stability and lower moisture level in the wood.
Engineered wood floors are appropriate for installation over under floor heating because of their stability and moisture content.
This finish retains the natural characteristics of the timber, letting the lighter hue of the Oak speak for itself.
With an engineered floor, you get the same look and feel of a traditional solid wood floor but with the added benefits of more efficient use of precious materials, superior construction, and compatibility with under floor heating.
The engineered board has been produced using a Russian WBP birch ply, manufactured to European standard EN 326-2. The adhesive used to bond the board is an E1 category, PUR adhesive (formaldehyde free) to DIN/EN 14257 and DIN/EN 204 low emission glue which is heat and water resistant in accordance with BS EN 14342:2005+A1. The top layer is kiln dried to between 8-12% moisture content.
The formaldehyde emissions are: 0,01 ppm, pentachlorophenol emissions: <0.8 mg/kg.
Thermal conductivity (W/mK) is 0,10W/mK.
Suitable for secret fixing to ply, battens or joist subfloor, floating on an underlay or a fully bonded installation to a screed subfloor. The unsealed board is supplied with a micro bevel along the length of the board, pre- sanded requiring only a light 100/120 grit sand to finish.
